Works and Awards of Marjane Satrapi (U.G)

Marjane Satrapi began her career as a novelist in graphic novels. She published her first book Persepolis, a French autobiographical novel on the early life of Marjane Satrapi. Persepolis has four parts, which were published in the time span of three years. These books were later translated into English in two parts in the year of 2003 and 2004 (Luebering, 2015).

Marjane wrote several other books in French such as:
-Sagesses et malices de la Perse (2001)
-Les monstres n'aiment pas la lune (2001)
-Ulysse au pays des fous (2001)
-Adjar (2002)
-Broderies (2004)
-Poulet aux prunes (2004)
-Le Soupir (2004)

Marjane also worked in films as a director, co-writer, and even as an actress.
Her famous novel Persepolis was made into an animated film in the year of 2007 (Marjane Satrapi, 2015).

Chicken with plums is another drama film released in the year of 2011, based on her graphic novel, in which Marjane is the co-writer and the co-director for the film (Marjane Satrapi, 2015).

  3. I was pleasantly surprised that most of the film adaptation of Persepolis was left as in the novels while there were some changes most notably that the film was mainly focused on the first volume of the books, here is a link with all the differences between the books and the movie
